Sibelius Oma Maa (My Own Land)

Cantata for mixed chorus and orchestra. This was undertaken by Sibelius during a difficult phase in Finland’s history. A civil war had broken out shortly after the declaration of independence in 1917. The intrinsic character of the work is one of optimism towards a more peaceful future.
